Dr Maria Javier (or Dr. Maria as most of her patients call her) was born and raised in the southside of Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood. She comes from a family of 6, being the 2^nd oldest in line; because of this, interacting with children is like second nature for her. She understands what it takes to handle different personality needs. Every child is different, but she believes every one of them deserves the care and attention that a pediatric dentist can help provide. She encourages all parents to bring their children to see a pediatric dentist starting at age 1 and continually every six months until the child feels confident to “graduate” and see a hygienist or general dentist. She welcomes all who feel passionate about their child’s overall health, as well as those who have difficulty finding a dentist for their special needs children.

Dr. Maria received her Bachelor of Science degree from Truman State University, she continued on at Marquette University School of Dentistry where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree.  She completed her Residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Mott Children’s Health Center.  She also completed a Residency in Hospital Dentistry at the University Hospital at the University of Michigan, Hurley Medical Center.  She also has a Masters of Science degree from University of Michigan School of Dentistry Rackham School of Graduate Studies.
